Dual Credit Instructors

ISD faculty who would like to teach a dual credit course must have the approval of the district to offer a specific course and to teach the course. Employment, if offered, will be on an as-needed basis with no assurance of continued employment.

Qualifications

  • Academic/Transfer Courses (ACGM)
    Minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field.
  • Workforce Courses (WECM)
    Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the teaching discipline, or an associate’s degree in the discipline and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline to include 3 years of experience in the field and/or appropriate certification or professional licensure.

Application

  • Applicants should visit the 1024视频 Employment Opportunities webpage to apply online.
  • Please indicate on the application an interest in teaching dual credit at the specific high school.
  • Ask the high school counselor to contact the 1024视频 Dual Credit office (dualcredit@mclennan.edu) with approval for the course and instructor.
  • All applicants will complete the standard hiring process employed by the relevant 1024视频 department.
  • Although 1024视频 is pleased to partner with our districts to the extent possible, meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee a dual credit teaching position.

Evaluation

  • Dual credit instructors who are employed by the partner school district are asked to complete a minimum of 4 hours of professional development through 1024视频 each year.
  • All dual credit instructors are evaluated using the standards and processes stipulated in college policy for faculty.
  • Instructors with unsatisfactory evaluations may not be offered continued employment by the college.

  • Counselors and Calendars
    List of area high school counselors. Includes contact information and links to district calendars. 


  • Offers short videos addressing topics such as college absences, reading a syllabus, academic integrity, and more.

  • Center for Teaching and Learning
    Provides resources and assistance with course design and Brightspace. Offers professional development courses on numerous topics throughout the year.


  • Offers virtual and in-person library instruction for dual credit students, including sections located on high school campuses.
