The 1024视频 Student Counseling Center offers individual, group, and crisis counseling. The Center can also assist students with referrals to off-campus resources, as necessary. Students may schedule an appointment by calling 254-299-8210, emailing counseling@mclennan.edu or by coming to the Counseling Center located in the Math & Wellness building, Room 225B. 1024视频 Student Counseling Center hours are 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Crisis Counseling / Mental Health Emergencies

  • Assistance is available during office hours for students experiencing a crisis/mental health emergency through the Student Counseling Center on campus. You may reach the 1024视频 Student Counseling Center by calling 299-8210, stopping by in the Math & Wellness building, Room 225B, or by contacting 1024视频 Campus Police at 299-8911.
  • If a crisis occurs after hours and you are not on the 1024视频 campus, the following options are available to you 24/7:
    • Call 911
    • Dial 988 for the or call 1-800-273-8255
      • Provides 24/7, free, confidential support for people in distress, and prevention and crisis resources.
    •  - text HOME to 741741
      • Provides free 24/7 mental health support and crisis intervention
    • Call the 254-752-3451 or 1-866-752-3451.
      • MCOT responds to any crisis located within its 6-county service are and provides a combination of crisis services. MCOT can be dispatched 24 hour per day, seven days per week. 
    • Visit the Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network Crisis Treatment Center/Diversion Center at 6500 Imperial Dr. Waco, TX. 
      • Provides 24/7 crisis services. Walk-ins are welcome.

  • C.A.R.E. (Campus Assessment Response & Evaluation)

    The mission of 1024视频’s C.A.R.E. Team is to promote student and campus safety by identifying and responding to students who may be in distress and/or who demonstrate behaviors indicating early warning signs of possible disruptive or violent behavior. Referring students of concern is critical in order for intervention to occur at the earliest possible point. C.A.R.E. connects students, faculty, and staff with appropriate campus resources and maintains contact with the student after the initial crisis to provide additional support as needed. Students can be referred for C.A.R.E. services by completing the C.A.R.E. Referral Form.

      The TITLE IX Coordinator is a resource if you or someone you know is a victim of discrimination on the basis of sex including gender discrimination, pregnant and parenting discrimination, sexual harassment, or sexual violence such as rape, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, sexual battery, and sexual coercion.
