Stan Mitchell and Vince Clark were among the almost 200 coaches recognized with the NJCAA’s inaugural Coaches Legacy Awards presented by Nufabrx. The award recognizes the all-time winningest coaches in the NJCAA’s 90-year history.

To be recognized, coaches must have met the minimum criteria in their respective sport. Golf coaches must have led their programs to three or more national championships in their tenure.

Mitchell took the reins of women’s golf as a club sport in 1996 and as an official college team in 1998 when the NJCAA re-established the sport. The program claimed the national title that first year and brought home two more national titles in 2002 and 2007.

Clark stepped into the role of head coach of the McLennan men’s golf team in 2007 after spending the previous six years as an assistant for the program. The Highlanders have competed in 22 consecutive NJCAA national tournaments, and Clark has led the Highlanders to three NJCAA Division I National Championships: back-to-back titles in 2009 and 2010, and another in 2016, bringing the school’s title count to four.

Honorees were presented with the award at luncheon prior to the 2025 NJCAA Hall of Fame and Awards ceremony. For the complete list of honorees, visit the .
